Salman Khan riding high on endorsements

Nothing succeeds like success. Pardon the cliché, but it is apt for Salman Khan who, once shunned by brands, is now being wooed for product endorsements.

It took three blockbusters on the trot, and a lot of charity, for Salman to rise to the wishlist of the brands. The actor was once shunned because of his bratty, spoilt-star image thanks to the black buck controversy and the road rage incident, not to mention some of the spats and scuffles he’s been involved in. But over the years, the ‘enfant terrible’ image has transformed into that of a reliable, eyeball-grabbing celebrity with the prospect of attracting greater business for the brand he endorses.

The latest one to woo Salman Khan is Suzuki Motorcycle India. The actor is the company’s first brand ambassador for India. We learn that Salman will be the face of Suzuki’s above-the-line and below-the-line initiatives. The star will firstly feature in the campaign for Suzuki’s recently launched motorcycle Hayate.

This is yet another addition to Salman Khan’s swelling kitty of brand endorsements. He’s endorsed a soft drink, a detergent, and an inner wear brand. He recently became the brand ambassador for History channel. His commercials for Yatra.com are already on the airwaves and the ads for Suzuki will also be out soon.

With so many endorsements, Salman Khan is making it to the league ofShahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan who have always been the favourites of the brands.
