These kind of scenes are typical of Shahrukh Khan starrers; the actor has done similar scene with Madhuri Dixit in Dil Toh Pagal Hai, and also with Kajol in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. This time it’s Katrina Kaif’s turn. Can you believe that the great Shah Rukh Khan has been entertaining audiences the world over for 20 years?? Since his first appearance on the big screen in 1992’s Deewana, SRK has gone on to star in more than 70 films. 70 films in 20 years!! When you think back to some of his performances and the many varied roles he has played in those films, it is quite easy to see why he is one of the biggest film stars in the world! The actor is currently in London with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma shooting a yet-to-be-titled Yash Chopra film. While in London, Shak Rukh Kahn celebrated his 20 years in films by taking on a new role: that of DJ for the Shah Rukh Khan Show on BBC Asian Network. He thrilled fans with three hours of tunes, lots of inside scoop, and much masti. After hearing him on that show we certainly think he has a new career waiting for him if he ever decides to give up acting. Thankfully, he told us he can’t imagine doing anything else but be in movies. Check out what else he told Stacey when he chatted with her right after the radio show. Yes, it is Shah Rukh Khan in conversation about DJing, and his 20 years in film. And, lucky us, he gave us a sneak peek into the world of the new Yash Chopra film!
So you just hosted your very first radio show, what was the experience like?
It felt very good. Everyone here at the BBC Asian Network was very kind. I have never done this before, but they were all very helpful. I hope I sounded good! They made it very easy. I really enjoyed it actually – I never thought it would be so much fun. It really was very nice!
Were you nervous?
No, I wasn’t really nervous. It is a BBC Asian program so I knew they would make sure the program is good. I didn’t have much responsibility, it wasn’t like a film that I have to go and act well. Halfway through I started to enjoy it a little more than I did when I started and then wished it had gone on longer.
The show was to celebrate your 20 years in the industry. Looking back over your career what would you say?
I was writing a book, which was called 20 years of a Decade, because it seemed to me that after working 10 years I have lived two life times! Suddenly it is 20 years, the book is still not out… I guess I will have to make it 40 years now. (Laughs) It feels like that. I’ve crammed so much work and so much life into these 20 years. I don’t even know. You know, yesterday I was sitting with my family and it was like 2 in the morning. I had just come back and I had a bit of a headache because it was cold. They said, ‘Do You like working so much?’ and I said, ‘Yes, I don’t know what else to do because it doesn’t seem like work to me. Whenever I go to work, I just go out and start acting or singing or dancing or being with people, and just making them happy. So it doesn’t seem like work.’ They pay me very well for it, I don’t even have to ask, they are very kind to me. 20 years have just passed by like this. My son is 14-years-old, 15 this year and I didn’t even realize it. It has been worth it all. I feel very happy that I have been able to do this. Very few of us get the chance to do what we wish to do and I am able to do that. I am thankful I have had this opportunity, and I am just thankful to everyone who has been responsible for it. In the beginning, I used to think I am responsible now I have become a little humble and I see that a lot of other people are responsible.

Ekta Kapoor, who has teamed up with Karan Johar to bring us a quirky love story, has had a change in cast due to Kareena Kapoor deciding to opt out of the project. It is reported that Kareena Kapoor opted out of the film when she realised she would be starred alongside Emraan, the serial kisser who is not portrayed as the convential hero. However, other reports suggest that Kareena insisted she cannot commit to the project due to the shooting schedule clashing with her wedding preparations.

The 100 crore actress who has a string of hits behind her is apparently not comfortable working with Emraan despite agreeing to the project when it was first discussed. However, where Kareena appears to have walked out, Deepika Padukone seems comfortable enough walking in. A source close to the Balaji-Dharma project revealed to TOI, “It is strange Kareena was not happy with her role. She also told Ekta and Karan that her wedding would be around the same time they wanted to start shooting for the film. It’s a heroine-oriented film and Emraan is not the mainstay of the project. Deepika was so excited about her role that she agreed to it a couple of days before boarding the flight to Turkey, where she is currently shooting for Race 2.”

It seems Kareena later regretted her decision to opt out and wanted to be part of the project once again however, a source told TOI, “It would have been unethical to show Deepika the door then. Moreover, they were unanimous in their opinion that Deepika could pull off the role as efficiently as Kareena would have.” It seems Kareena’s loss has become Deepika’s gain.

A couple of months ago, it had been reported that Salman Khan was miffed with his Dabangg co-star Sonakshi Sinha after she allegedly spilled the beans on the much awaited sequel of the film while on the sets of her other projects like Son Of Sardaar and Lootera. However, the Sinha senorita recently dismissed such rumours and claimed that they were false and baseless.

In a recent interview, the curvy actress was quoted saying, "People just like to make up sensational stories because it makes for good gossip. There was no truth to that story: I know what to say and when to say it. Besides, Dabangg 2 is as much my film as it is Salman's."

Sonakshi Sinha will be seen reprising her role as Rajjo in the sequel to the blockbuster Dabangg, which is being directed by Arbaaz Khan.

Do not disturb: Salman's diva-like diktat to Ek Tha Tiger crew

Salman Khan is back to his old bad boy ways. The actor, who knows all about Being Human and is often praised by colleagues for his heart of gold, has issued a new diktat of sorts for his Ek Tha Tiger unit members. 

If reports are to be believed, then the Dabangg actor's new rule on the sets of his Ek Tha Tiger bars unit members from summoning him for a shot while he is in his vanity van, even if it means delaying the shoot. 

Reports also suggest that the Bodyguard actor is now turning up late for shoots and often locks himself in the van. 

Ek Tha Tiger has previously suffered from Salman's diva-like behaviour when he reportedly refused to shoot for a song sequence in Morocco as he was busy with home production Dabangg 2. Yash Raj Films was forced to build a set in the Film City for the star to finish the remaining chunks.

We’re not sure how Shahrukh Khan will react to this arrangement, but since the banner YRF is calling the shots, the superstar has little choice but to play down the awkward rub with his arch rival on the big screen. So this could be the first time when the Shahrukh Khan loyalists might buy a ticket to watch Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger just to catch the trailer of the SRK-Katrina starrer. Mumbai, June 19 (IANS) Actress Asin Thottumkal made veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty's 62nd birthday special by treating him to a cake. She was the first one to wish him on the sets of the film "Khiladi 786".

Mithun celebrated his birthday Saturday and said: "Cake was full of love and getting it from a gorgeous lady, my day was made. I know Asin from our 'Housefull 2' days and she is not only gorgeous, but very cute and very very caring. I miss her presence always. I wish she becomes big, bigger, biggest."

Will Bigg Boss 6 be keeping up with Kim Kardashian?

Reality bit Kim Kardashian long ago but rumour has it she's now expanding eastwards. After previous season's contestants Pamela Anderson and Sunny Leone, the Bigg Boss house may play home to Kim, star of hit American reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Salman Khan Roots For Pranab Mukherjee

While India is busy finding a new President, Bollywood actor Salman Khan has voiced his support for Congress' candidate for President, Pranab Mukherjee.

Salman took to Twitter to root for Mukherjee writing, "Pranab da ka banna toh banta hai boss ." While the Dabangg Khan has publicly declared his choice, rest of the Bollywood is mum on the issue.

Meanwhile, the actor is gearing up for the release of his forthcoming film Ek Tha Tiger which will see him opposite Katrina Kaif. Directed by Kabir Khan, the movie is slated to hit the theaters this Eid 2012.

Abhishek-Aishwarya, Kajol-Ajay on a holiday together?

Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan are currently starring in the final schedule of their movie 'Bol Bachchan' and both were seen planning their holiday. A crew member overheard both of them discussing their plans. According to him he Ajay was telling Abhishek, "When you, Aishwarya and Aaradhya travel to US towards mid July, Kajol, Nysa, Yug and I will join you. Ash and Kajol can bond; the kids can spend time together; while you and I sit down and have a drink together". But both the stars have one stumbling block in their plans. Abhishek is very strict on diet and he doesn't drink. He is keen on maintaining perfect shape for his upcoming movie Dhoom-3.
The Ajay-Abhishek companionship goes back a long way. These two have been bonding majorly even when Ajay did Major Saab with Amitabh Bachchan and Abhi came on set. They also did Zameen together a few years back. Ajay tells, "We are also next door neighbors". Madhuri Dixit Is A Star, Quite Literally!

Bollywood superstar Madhuri Dixit will now join the esteemed list of celebrities who have a star named after them. A few die-hard fans of the actress got a star in the Orion constellation named after her.

A group of 13 members of 'The Empress Fanpage' handed over the certificate to Dixit on Thursday on the sets of the dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, which she is judging.

The certificate by Star Foundation reads, "A celestial body in the sky above has been named in honour of Madhuri Dixit-Nene and is officially located in the constellation Orion."

The actress took to Twitter to acknowledge with brilliant gesture. She tweeted, "Wanted to thank my fans for the honour. They had a star in the Orion constellation named after me."

Sonam Kapoor Blasts Media For Twisting Her Statements About Katrina Kaif

A few days back, the media industry had gone into gossip overdrive when it was reported thatSonam Kapoor claimed that Katrina Kaif was 'shameless' and this has not gone down well with the Mausam girl, who insists that her statements were twisted out of context.

In a recent interview, Kapoor was quoted saying, "I love Katrina Kaif and have said amazing things about her, but people have taken one statement and twisted it saying that I called her shameless! I just said that I wanted to give her a bouquet of flowers as I love what she does. As an actor, you need to be without inhibitions, listen to the director and do what he tells you. I want to be like her."

Saif and Kareena attend Tiger Pataudi memorial lunch in London

A memorial lunch held in honour of Tiger Pataudi in London was attended by Sharmila Tagore, son Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, and daughters Soha Ali Khan and Saba Ali Khan. The memorial lunch was organised by the Indian Journalist Association and was held at the St. James’ Court Hotel.

While, Sharmila Tagore and Saif Ali Khan addressed the media at the lunch, Soha Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor who accompanied Saif Ali Khan were also seen interacting with the guests.

Saif Ali Khan especially flew down to London for the event and will be heading back to Turkey with Kapoor tomorrow for the filming of Race 2.

Salman Khan praises Aamir Khan aka 'Teeluu'!

In his tweet, Salman referred Aamir by his ANDAAZ APNA APNA character name i.e. 'Teeluu'. Though Aamir's character name was originally 'Amar', he was fondly called 'Teeluu' in the film.

The 46-year-old star was recently in Dubai to promote the launch of his brand "Being Human" at Splash and Iconic stores. But what touched us the most was when Salman took out time for his special fans at the Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre in Dubai. The organization is solely devoted to helping the differently-abled children. It was a sight to see Salman Khan playing cricket with his little fans. He hugged them, joked with them, locked in fist-power plays and happily, willingly, lost to them. A side of the superstar that goes to show there’s more to him than the bratty image often portrayed in the media. After all, away from the arc lamps, it’s all about Being Human for Salman.

Aishwarya Rai’s daughter Aaradhya is very cute, has brown eyes!

Aishwarya Rai may have kept the face of her seven-month-old daughter hidden from the media, but a lucky fan of the actress did get a peek at the little one in London. 

Ash along with her daughter Aaradhya and hubby Abhishek Bachchan is in London and on June 14 the actress went to Bicester Village to do some shopping for Aaradhya. A fan of the actress, named Anisah Hussain, spotted the actress and not just got an autograph but also got a good look at the baby Aaradhya. She describes the look of the baby that to the Indian media has become somewhat a mystery wrapped in an enigma. 

“@juniorbachchan @SrBachchan met Aishwarya and Aaradhya at Bicester Village today! Got an autograph too :)” Anisah tweeted after meeting Aishwarya Rai. 

Anisah added that Aishwarya allowed her a look at the baby. 

“she was really nice & friendly. and Aaradhya was very cute! aishwarya had her in a pouch and showed me her face properly! :D” 

Anisah also described the facial features of Aaradhya Bachchan. 

“yeah i saw her lol she is really cute, she has pretty eyes and eyelashes! shes a bit browner than aishwarya but very cute!... lol her eyes are pretty, they're brown though. she has long eyelashes, the shape is like aishwaryas though i think :)” Anisah wrote. 

So, the outline one can sketch of the cute Aaradhya Bachchan from the description is: she has browner complexion than Aishwarya Rai, has brown eyes and lovely eyelashes.

'Rowdy' Sonakshi's polite reply to Kareena's statement

Actress Sonakshi Sinha at ROWDY RATHORE success bash, replied to Kareena Kapoor's reported statement on her plumpness.

It was reported earlier by a leading daily that Kareena slammed 'fat' actresses likeVidya Balan and Sonakshi calling them plump size and not curvaceous.

However, this 'rowdy' girl totally disagrees with the alleged statements. In fact she says that she likes Bebo and thinks that bebo wouldn't comment something like this.

Aishwarya Rai goes shopping for baby in London!

A few onlookers at London's famous Regent Street spotted the former beauty queen-turned-actress with her bundle of joy, who was born in November 2011.

"Just saw Aishwarya Rai with the baby in Regent Street at the Gap store shopping for the baby! Whooaa," tweeted an excited onlooker.

Aishwarya was in London as she was invited as a special guest to celebrate the opening of the Bulgari Hotel and Residences. 

Salman to play 'Supermane'

With three megahits in a row, it's time Salman Khan took on something bigger. And the answer is 'superhero'.

The actor is all set to wow his Below-18 fan base with a superhero flick with a desi touch. Enter Sher Khan whose power resides in his long locks.

Written by Rumi Jaffrey and directed by Sohail Khan, Sallu will take on the baddies with his Samson-like power.

Jaffrey is clear however, that though a superhero, Salman will not be flying around with a cape or have fancy gadgets. Instead, he is set to channel the power Kalaripayattu.  "He will be a hero that kids can identify with. The action scenes won't have him beating up a dozen goons single-handedly. He has done these things many times before," confirmed the writer.

As for the leading lady, she is yet to be finalised. But Rumi Jaffrey hints that it will be a new face. "It has to be someone who can perform well. Since Salmanbhai is changing in Sher Khan, the leading lady can't be familiar either. We're looking. We have time. We start in October."

There'll be a Khan at IIFA after all: SRK out, Salman in

SRK may have decided to skip the IIFA awards this year in favour of a family holiday, but arch-rival Salman will be on hand to provide the necessary star quality. (Read: SRK to skip IIFA for family vacation and work)

The three-day event, beginning on Thursday, June 7 in the Lion City of Singapore, will see a bunch of stars gathering to attend the IIFA World premiere, music and fashion event IIFA Rocks and the main awards gala among other events.

Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar are to co-host, and performers include Priyanka Chopra, and Ranbir and Rishi Kapoor


Sources say actors Abhay Deol, Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani, Emraan Hashmi, Farhan Akhtar and Shahid Kapoor will be flying down to Singapore on June 7 for IIFA.

So will actresses Bipasha Basu, Dia Mirza, Kalki Koechlin, Neha Dhupia, Parineeti Chopra, Preity Zinta and Vidya Balan.
