Shahrukh Khan slammed as ‘arrogant’ and ‘haughty’!

Shahrukh Khan
is still in the dock for allegedly smoking publicly inside a Rajasthan stadium during an IPL match of his team Kolkata Knight Riders a few weeks back. Even though the Bollywood superstar has been asked by a Jaipur court to appear before it on May 26, India’s premier anti-tobacco watchdog, NOTE, has slammed SRK as ‘arrogant’ and ‘haughty’.

Shekhar Salkar, General Secretary, NOTE (National Organisation for Tobacco Eradication), is quoted as saying this about Shahrukh Khan: “My main grievance is his arrogant demeanour with which he time and again decides to trample the law and smoke in places where he can be viewed and emulated by thousands of viewers when he can smoke privately.”

Citing the example of another Bollywood star Ajay Devgan, Salkar said that Devgan, unlike Shahrukh, was apologetic after being caught smoking in public.

“A similar incident happened with Ajay Devgn in Goa and after sending him a letter by NOTE, he was very gracious in accepting his mistake and his recent visits to Goa have not seen him smoking in public,” Salkar added.

Salkar doesn’t think that Shahrukh Khan, despite his promise to cut down on smoking and eventually kick it, will ever be able to leave the habit.

“In my personal opinion he would never be able to because of his all-knowing haughty persona,” Salkar said.
