'Dabangg 2' nominated as Worst Film at Golden Kela Awards. Do you agree?

Here’s a shocker for the fans of Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan. Their respective films Dabangg 2 and Jab Tak Hai Jaan are nominated in the Worst Film of 2012 category at Golden Kela Awards, the Indian version of the Razzies.

Imran Khan and Anushka Sharma have been nominated in the worst actor and actress category respectively at the fifth edition of the Golden Kela Awards.



Golden Kela Awards are the Indian version of Hollywood's Razzies - Golden Raspberry Awards, popular in the west for awarding the worst of the year in the filmmaking industry.

Imran has been nominated for his acting in "Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu", while Anushka for her work in "Jab Tak Hai Jaan".

Others competing in the worst actor (male) category are Ajay Devgn for "Son of Sardaar" and "Bol Bachchan", Sanjay Dutt for "Agneepath", Siddharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan for "Student Of The Year". Akshay Kumar's name too figures in this list for "Housefull 2", "Rowdy Rathore", "Joker" and "Khiladi 786".

Apart from Anushka, those nominated for the worst actress trophy are Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty for "Cocktail", Farah Khan for "Shirin Farhad Ki Nikal Padi", Alia Bhatt for "Student Of The Year" and Sonakshi Sinha for all her films this year.

Shirish Kunder's Joker will compete in the worst film category along with Housefull 2, Son Of Sardaar, Khiladi 786, Dabangg 2 and Jab Tak Hai Jaan.

The nominees for worst director are Shirish Kunder for "Joker", Arbaaz Khan for "Dabangg 2", Karan Johar for "Student Of The Year", Kabir Khan for "Ek Tha Tiger" and Sajid Khan for "Housefull 2".

The numbers nominated in the most irritating song category are "Chinta ta chita chita" ("Rowdy Rathore"), "Son of sardaar" ("Son of Sardaar"), "Anarkali disco chali" ("Housefull 2"), "Disco deewane" ("Student Of The Year") and "Hookah bar" ("Khiladi 786").

The nominations of the most atrocious lyrics are "Ishq wala love" ("Student of the Year"), "Halkat jawani" ("Heroine"), "Bipasha Bipasha" ("Jodi Breakers"), "Pon pon" ("Son Of Sardaar"), "Chinta ta chita chita ("Rowdy Rathore") and "Hookah bar" ("Khiladi 786").

The nominees for worst sequel are "Dabangg 2", "Housefull 2", Jannat 2, Jism 2, Raaz 3, Kya Super Kool Hain Hum, Bhoot Returns and 1920 Evil Returns.

There is another category-- Why Are You Still Trying? Award, which has Karisma Kapoor, Chandrachur Singh, Aftab Shivdasani, Shiney Ahuja, Prachi Desai and Jackky Bhagnani as nominees.

The awards will be announced in March.

At Rs 21 crore, record opening for ‘Dabangg 2′

“Dabangg 2″, the sequel to 2010 Bollywood blockbuster “Dabangg” has managed to surpass the opening day collections of the original movie. It amassed Rs.21.10 crore in India on the day of its release – largely because it released across a greater number of sccreens.
The movie, starring Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha, opened across 2,500 screens Friday against 1,800 for the previous one.
The directorial debut of actor-producer Arbaaz Khan, “Dabangg 2″ opened to packed houses and managed to rake in Rs. 21.10 crore on the opening day itself.
It is said to one of the highest opening for any non-holiday release in Bollywood till date. “Dabangg 2″ surpassed the first day collections of even Akshay Kumar’s “Rowdy Rathore”, which earned Rs.15 crores. It was a non-holiday release too.
The original “Dabangg” was directed by Abhinav Kashyap, and it had managed to rake in Rs.14.5 crore on its first day, nationally. – IANS

"Even Allah Mia (God) would not be able to tell when Salman will get married. I wish that our daughter-in-law should step in our home as early as possible, but it is not in our hands," Saleem told reporters.

It's finally happening for Angela Jonsson. After a nearly 2-year wait, her celluloid debut is happening. Salman Khan has not only given his final nod to Angela as his leading lady in his prestigious home production Sher Khan, director Sohail Khan has dropped the second leading lady's part, so that the focus of attention would be completely on the lissome Ms Jonsson .

Says a source close to the project, "There were two leading ladies in the script. But now the second girl's role has been scrapped, so that Angela gets full attention."

Angela would also be required to train in some serious martial arts since her part in Sher Khan is being described as a "combination of Lara Croft and Fearless Nadia". Several elaborate action scenes are planned for the leading lady. She would be trained by a slew of international stunt-men.

All this pampering for the debutante comes with a price. Angela who has so far been in the news for her various link-ups (imaginary or otherwise) had been asked to "disappear" from public attention.

Says the source, "Late nights, media events, awards functions, public performances, showroom inaugurations...have all been banned for now. Angela has been asked to avoid public attention as much as possible. Salman wants her to be unveiled to the public as a complete newcomer in Sher Khan."

Says the Sher Khan director Sohail Khan, "Now there's only one girl in Sher Khan. The second role didn't shape up well enough. So we removed it from the script."

Salman and Shahrukh finally end their fight!

Salman Khan seems to be a changed man these days… Well, there were days when neither Salman Khan nor his arch rival Shahrukh would ever leave a chance to put each other down. However, things are not the same anymore. Salman has no more hatered in his heart for Shahrukh Khan. In a recent interview, Salman was as usual questioned about his equation with SRK, to which he answered, “There was a time when Shahrukh and I never got along well, in fact, we don't get along now either... It's not that there's any enmity. Whatever happened in the past is all forgotten. More than us, people have hyped our relationship. We are not in a boxing ring, we are mature people. He should beat me with his work and I should beat him with my work.” Now this sentence of Salman shows us some ray of hope. We wish the duo patch up soon!

And he looked quite different from what he was before he left for France. One, Baba was aided by a man and a walking stick to make his way out of the airport. So why was Sanju looking so different? From France Baba flew off to Germany for a quick knee operation. For quite a while now the Agneepath actor has been facing acute knee problems, but ignored it all. Now hopefully it is fixed and our man can run and jump and beat up baddies like he used to.

But the juiciest and spiciest piece of goss is about his physical transformation. Apparently, at buddySalman Khan’s behest, Sanjay Dutt got a facelift. Not a complete facial makeover, but just a little stretch here and there to get rid of undereye bags and ageing skin. And a new hairstyle was like the perfect icing on top of the gateau!

Yet! Agneepath filmmaker Karan Malhotra throws water on recent speculations surrounding his second project

We told you that all Hrithik Roshan-Kareena Kapoor fans can jump with joy ‘coz the hawt jodi wouldreunite onscreen after nine long years. Now our friendly feathered flutterer who told us in the first place that the Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’s bickering pair was coming together for Karan Johar’s production – to be directed by Karan Malhotra – said there’s a sad twist in the happy tale.

In an interview, the director set the record straight about the stories circulating around his second film. Malhotra said: “We have not finalised anyone for the film yet. We have few people in mind for this film. We will approach people once we are done with the script. We can’t talk about who we are thinking of for this film.”

The Agneepath director said it would be at least a couple of months before the script that he’s writing along with his wife Ekta Pathak would be ready. And that means there’s no meat in the matter thatBebo begum has agreed to do the project. Or maybe this is just the ‘official’ version of the big story?

Anyway, so far, the Duggu-Bebo reunion is just a rumour. We think it’s time both stars let go of their passionate past and cash in on a bright future as a hit jodi. They should learn a lesson or two from ex-couple-now-good-friends Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, who have set new box office records with Ek Tha Tiger.

After all with Salman Khan, it’s either “my way or the highway!” Sources say that recently, the makers of a dance reality show were in for a surprise when Sallu put forth his demands in exchange of agreeing to appear on their show.

Our source says, “Salman was set to appear on the jodi-special episode. As most of the jodis had chosen to perform on his film songs, the actor had specified he did not want any track on the show that was originally filmed on him and former flame Aishwarya Rai.”

Sallu also apparently demanded that no Shah Rukh Khan track was to feature on the show. The source says, “Darsheel and Avneet performed their act to SRK’s Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge song. Salman appeared on the show only after the song was over.”

The source adds that during the show, the actor was also spotted sketching in his notepad. However, when the show was over, he simply picked up his notebook and left, without anyone else getting a chance to have a peek at his drawings.

While on the show, Sallu’s co-star Katrina Kaif pushed him to perform with Madhuri Dixit on a Hum Aapke Hai Kaun track. Though, he was not really in the mood, he later relented. Afterwards, when the two retired to their vanity vans, Salman apparently gently reprimanded Kat for having forced him to dance.

Katrina Kaif did not know that vermillion on her forehead will create such a furor. Unable to bear the media fervor over vermilion on forehead, she turned unhappy and totally broke down on Salman Khan’s shoulder soon after the special screening of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ at Yash Raj studio.

On spotting Katrina with sindoor on forehead, media speculated about her secret marriage. Later, a tabloid clarified that the sindoor was nothing but a red tikka which her business manager’s mother had put on her forehead near to the actress’s parting.

"It is a ritual Katrina has observed over the years," a source close to the actress told the tabloid.

"Why do they do this to me? Am I that kind of girl?!" she reportedly wailed. The actress made sure that the pics and videos are not circulated in the media.

Salman Khan reportedly consoled the actress. "He told her to just chill and said that she should learn from his life. After all he has had to face the media's fury more than many of the actors in the industry today," the source was quoted by the tabloid.

Chill down Kat, rumor keeps floating and will keep doing so but it's a time to rejoice as ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ has created history entering the 100 crore club in just five days and it is expected that the film will cross 200 crore mark and set a new benchmark in the history of Indian cinema.

Prakash Jha Wants To Work With The Khans And Khiladi Of Bollywood

Acclaimed director Prakash Jha, who has mostly made films with actors such as Ajay Devgn and Manoj Bajpayee, now wants to explore other actors in the industry-mainly the Khan trio comprising Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar.

In a recent interview, Prakash Jha, who is gearing up to promote his upcoming film ‘Chakravyuh’, said that he is looking forward to working with the three Khans and the ‘Khiladi’. Jha further added that he is working on scripts in which he can fit the actors in as he feels all the aforementioned actors are extremely brilliant and that he would enjoy working with them.

‘Chakravyuh’ boasts on an impressive star cast-Om Puri, Manoj Bajpayee, Abhay Deol, Arjun Rampal and Esha Gupta and revolves around the Naxal issues of North India.

Why is Shahrukh Khan all alone this Eid?

Bollywood superstar SRK, who usually spends time with family and close friends and associates during Eid, is celebrating the festival all alone this year. "All al'one on Eid...on a thin winding road. Nowhere and everywhere. Just gave myself a hug after a long time. Will celebrate with happy winds," Shahrukh tweeted.

And the reason for him staying away from home is that he is busy shooting for his upcoming untitled film with Yash Chopra, starring Katrina Kaif and Anuska Sharma.

Shahrukh wished everyone Eid Mubarak from Ladakh, where he is currently shooting & all set to complete the schedule of the film. Despite of the cold weather, forget writing where you can't even move, Shahrukh took to social networking site to wish his fans and near & dear ones.

Salman Hadtrik ssentury; Ek Tha Tiger earns 100cr

Salman Khan's fourth consecutive blockbuster Ek Tha Tiger earned a record breaking Rs 32 crores on opening day and has now achieved another milestone. The Kabir Khan-directed movie has fetched over Rs 100 crores in just five days, after it was released on August 15.

Salman's younger sister Arpita Khan broke the news on Twitter: "Total 100.16 C in 5 days.. And the TIGER ROARS! Tiger Tiger Tiger."

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, who called the film's opening collection "beyond historic," also tweeted: "#EkThaTiger hits a ton, @BeingSalmanKhan 's 4th century. "

Ek Tha Tiger, co-starring Katrina Kaif, is the fourth of Salman's films to make it to the elite "Rs 100 crore club" after Dabangg, Ready and Bodyguard.

The romantic thriller released on Independence Day (August 15). It reportedly cost Rs. 50 crores to make. Ek Tha Tiger is director Kabir Khan's third collaboration with Yash Raj Films after Kabul Express in 2006 and New York in 2009.

It is Salman's first Yash Raj film and Katrina's second. Katrina appeared in New York and has two other Yash Raj films coming up - Dhoom: 3 with Aamir Khan and an untitled film with Shah Rukh Khan.

Ek Tha Tiger tells the story of a Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) officer, played by Salman, and the turmoil that ensues when he falls in love with Katrina's character.

The story is written by Aditya Chopra and the film's screenplay has been co-written by Kabir Khan and well-known journalist-turned-lyricist-writer Neelesh Misra. (With IANS inputs)

4.Shah Rukh Khan: The King Khan certainly did not get that name for no reason. He has been Bollywood’s favourite for years now and we’re sure his hair also adds to the charisma. Shah Rukh’s hair goes with his personality both off screen and on screen. His wavy and thick hair suits all his romantic and sensual characters- especially in movies like DDLJ and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. The King Khan is reportedly obsessed with his hair and has maintained the same hairstylist for a lot of years now, so that he gets exactly what he wants, without any mess ups. We would, however, like some variation in his hair style. The length of his hair does change, but the style itself never does. Some experimentation here and there would definitely work to his benefit.

Hrithik Roshan: He is the Greek God of Bollywood- it is no surprise that he is on the list. It is quite obvious that this actor pays a lot of attention to his chiselled body, but he does not ignore the rest either. He has paid meticulous attention to his hair from the first movie. He sported short, well cut hair in Kaho Na Pyar Hai, which drew the attention of millions of women towards him. Ek Tha Tiger banned in Pakistan

Director Kabir Khan appears to be in a sad mood. No, it’s not that ‘Ek tha tiger’ is not doing well. It is a blockbuster. Apparently the film has been banned in Pakistan, which has made him gloomy. He said, “It is sad a film that promotes peace and friendship between countries has fallen victim to politics.” When asked if the ban might have ruined the chances of the films earnings. He clarified on that by saying, "It is not about the money loss but a film with good intention failed to release in Pakistan though places like Dubai and London which has a mixed population of Indians and Pakistanis have reacted positively to the film." 

Earlier speaking to a leading Indian daily, Pakistani distributer Atif Rashid said, “I was just told the film cannot be released in Pakistan and there will be further discussion on it.” The film was to be released with 35 prints by IMGC Global Entertainment. On 7^th august it was said that the film might receive a NOC from the censor board. IMGC’s distributor Amjad Rasheed was quite hopeful about it and had said, “They have asked for the print by August 12. On August 13, the final content will be watched and a decision taken. But hopefully, Eid tak Pakistan ke theatres mein film lag jaayegi (On Eid, the film would hopefully release in Pakistan).”

“Breaking News: No release for ‘EkThaTiger’ in Pakistan.” is what trade analyst Taran Adarsh had tweeted. Meanwhile ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ box office returns have touched a new all time high. Its first day collections have been over 30 crores. It has beaten SRK’s ‘Ra.One’ and Hrithik’s ‘Agneepath’ in that. As again Taran Adarsh had tweeted, "To state that ‘EkThaTiger’ has created history would be wrong. Wed figures are BEYOND HISTORIC." In its opening day ‘Ra.One’ had amassed 25 crores while ‘Agneepath’ had done a business of 23 crores on the opening day.

Overseas too the movie is doing wonders. Adarsh Tweeted, "#EkThaTiger storms overseas markets. Starts with a BANG... UK Wed £ 96,663 ... Australia Wed A$ 72,617. Mind-blowing figures!" . he further added , "#EkThaTiger in CI circuit, #Bodyguard, till now, was the biggest opener [91.50 lacs]. #EkThaTiger collects 1.38 cr, thus creating History."

It is said that this is one of the movies where Salman has truly come out as an actor. It is much dissociated from the rugged comedy and crass jokes in which he indulges himself. Katrina too has been a revelation in the movie.

SRK, Katrina to shoot in Kashmir under high security

Yash Chopra again wants to re-create the magic and beauty of Kashmir in his latest project titled ‘Romance’ starringShahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead. Kashmir which is called the heaven on earth has in the past been a main spot of shooting for Hindi film industry, basically for the Yash Raj banner. In the past, they time and again captured the beauty of the place on their lens.

Now that Yash Chopra has returned to direction after so many years, he wants to shoot in Kashmir. On looking at the past turbulence and Shahrukh’s popularity, the film will be shot under heavy security. The cast and the crew of the film have reached Kashmir and extra security was provided by Jammu and Kashmir police. They will shoot in Pahalgam region for three days. SRK will reach Ladakh by Sunday. The superstar shot a scene in Ladakh in ‘Dil Se’ way back in 1998.

Madhuri, Sriram filed for divorce?

All is not well in Madhuri Dixit and Sriram Nene’s paradise. According to an insider, the couple is facing a major marital discord and following which the million dollar smile lady has decided to shift her base to India.

Few days back, Madhuri tweeted that she is returning back to India and very excited about it. She also said that her husband Sriram has a lot of opportunities in India and he is in talks with top hospitals in India.

But the real story is something different; following a major fallout in their marriage Madhuri has decided to be back to India. It is also heard that the duo has filed for divorce.

The long wait is finally over as Salman Khanstarrer ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ hit the theatre worldwide on August 15. There are many positive factors surrounding the movie. First, it was a Yash Raj film and YRF always has a huge expectation and mass appeal. Secondly, it was directed by Kabir Khan of ‘New York’ fame. Thirdly, the film has been well promoted online, magazines and television. Fourthly, what attract the movie-goers the most is Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s chemistry. It is always a charm to watch real couple romancing in reel. And the last but not the least is Salman Khan’s mania. Salman Khan has a huge fan following. He is a crowd puller and his films are sure to create box-office history.

Let’s see whether Salman Khan has been able to break his own record with ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and create a new benchmark. ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ is an action spy thriller with an ingredient of romance and naach gaana. Salman Khan is the x-factor of the movie. What works in favor of the film is the spy angle, some actions and Kat-Sallu’s Jodi. Director Kabir Khan has extracted everything from Salman to make his film a blockbuster.

The story is about a RAW agent Tiger (Salman Khan). He is the most experience and intelligent spy in his team and on looking at his prowess his RAW chief Shenoy (Girish Karnad) entrusts him with the responsibility of tracing the suspect who sells missile technology secrets to Pakistan. It is a daring assignment that requires Tiger to move around the world and the film revolves in countries like Zako, Northern Iraq, Ireland, Istanbul, Havana, and London, apart from India. Tiger lands in Trinity College to track the suspect professor who shares secret to ISI and there he bumps into Zoya (Katrina Kaif) who is also an undercover agent. Zoya and Tiger fall for one another and with it romance and work go hand in hand.

From action to romance, Kabir Khan brought the film to an interesting turn in the interval.

Speaking about performance, Salman Khan is a star and he carried very well with his role. He went into the skin of the character and gave his best. Salman has his own acting style which is hatke. He could study the nerve of his audience and portray those roles which his fans like him to see. Sallu can portray comedy and action with excellence. For a long time, he is missing out from some serious action roles and when Kabir Khan again showed Salman as an action hero, the craze was unimaginable.

Kabir Khan, the director of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, has confirmed in an interview that Salman Khan had indifference with Katrina Kaif during a song filming where Katrina wore a long yellow skirt and black blouse. He confirmed the spat, “Katrina and Salman go back a long way. He was very involved in their scenes together and her costumes. They have a certain equation. Even Salman seeks her opinion. But yes, there was an incident where they disagreed over Katrina’s costume in the song. It was over a particular cut in the black blouse she has worn with a yellow skirt”.

During the interview, Kabir Khan also confirmed the news of starry tantrums thrown by Sallu on the set of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’. He said, “I will be honest. It took time for Salman and me to come on the same page. There were teething issues on how we look at the scenes and his character. Salman reports on the sets on his own time. He does not start his day early. And he was clear about it before we went on floors. But once he is on the sets, he is all yours till you wrap up. So well, you just have to plan your day with him intelligently.”

After all, Salman Khan is Salman Khan. He has his own way of dealing things, you like it or don't like it. If he is called a man of golden heart then he is also famous for his hot temper. Today, he is the most bankable star and filmmakers wait in queue to get his dates.

Well, we have all seenKareena Kapoor getting cozy with her co-star Arjun Rampal in the trailer of ‘Heroine’. The trailer was liked by the cine-goers. We got a glimpse of Kareena’s ‘Halkat Jawani’ in the trailer and also seen how she got intimate with Arjun Rampal. During the launch of the trailer, Arjun Rampal was at his naughtiest best and quipped that he cherish the moment when he got intimate with Bebo.

"I can't get over the Kareena effect. I still cherish the love-making scenes. I fact, even today, when I close my eyes, I feel the moments when I'm in a mood," laughed Arjun, when asked whether there were any inhibitions or awkward moments before and after they steamy scene was shot.

When asked whether he got threatening calls from Bebo's boyfriend Saif Ali Khan, the actor got serious and added. "Well, Saif and I have mutual respect for each other. We are aware of each other's gentleman attitude towards women. So, on that front, I was confident about myself."

Madhur Bhandarkar directed ‘Heroine’ is slated for September release. The film stars Randeep Hooda, Divya Dutta apart from Arjun and Kareena.
